Selmer officer suspended for domestic assault

A patrolman with the Selmer Police Department has been suspended without pay after he was arrested on charges of domestic assault.
Selmer Police Lt. Tony Miller said Quinton Garland, an officer who has been with the department for three years, was suspended this weekend after officers arrested him for assaulting his girlfriend.
Garland was arrested, but released on bail. Miller said Garland’s suspension will remain in effect pending an administrative investigation that will determine, whether Garland is found guilty of the charges or not, if Garland violated the police department’s code of conduct.
Miller said the investigation is ongoing.
